Calcium Fluoride can be used in the ultraviolet, visible and infrared spectral regions. It has excellent transmission in the ultraviolet range. Calcium Fluoride is often used in spectroscopic windows and lenses due to its high transmittance from 150 nm to 9000 nm. Its low absorption and high damage threshold makes it a good choice for laser optics. Calcium fluoride's transmission above 90% between 0.25 µm and 7µm allows it to be used without an anti-reflective coating. |
